  • Assessment of genetic sources available for bollworm tolerance/ resistance/ non-preference and inter-crossing bollworm tolerant/ resistant varieties with the desired genotypes for evolving variety, which is resistant to bollworm and is high yielding.
  • Devising simple plant protection schedule for rice.
  • Crop competitions were sponsored for various crops on an All-India basis. Rice Jowar, Groundnut and Onion growing competitions were held - to encourage farmers to use improved methods of agriculture, to produce higher yields and better quality crops.
